Stedman NC “Party in the Park” 2023

STEDMAN, NC – Ernest Freeman Park in Stedman is gearing up for a day of fun and festivities at the annual Stedman Party in the Park on May 20, 2023. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., will feature a variety of activities and attractions for all ages.

The opening ceremony will kick off the event at 10 a.m. and feature a performance by Stedman Elementary School. Arts and crafts vendors will also be on site from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to the arts and crafts vendors, there will be plenty of entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy. Attendees can look forward to a rock climbing wall, pony rides, bounce houses, face painting, and even laser tag.

Foodies will not be disappointed either as there will be food trucks on site offering a variety of delicious eats, including barbecue, turkey legs, ribs, pizza, American cuisine, cold drinks, nuts, nachos and cheese, funnel cakes, and cotton candy.

The entertainment lineup for the day includes:

  • The Cape Fear High School Jazz Group at 12 p.m.
  • Gamalier Padilla at 1 p.m.
  • The Throwback Collaboration Band (TCB) Motown – R&B -Funk at 4 p.m.
  • The Em bers live performance at 8 p.m.

FORT LIBERTY, NC – The Fort Liberty July 4th Celebration is set to take place at the Main Post Parade Field on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, and it’s going to be a night to remember. The event, which opens at 3:00 pm, will feature music performances from headliner Shery l Crow and opening act Gavin DeGraw.

Sheryl Crow, a 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee, is famous for hits like “All I Wanna Do,” “If It Makes You Happy,” “Every Day is a Winding Road,” “My Favorite Mistake,” and “Soak Up the Sun.” Gavin DeGraw, a RIAA Platinum and Gold album singer, is known for hits like “I Don’t Want to Be,” “Chariot,” and “Soldier.”

In addition to the music performances, there will be a variety of attractions to enjoy, including parachute free-fall demonstrations, a flag ceremony, food and beverage vendors, a fireworks display, and Tent City.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting the Fort Liberty July 4th Celebration this year,” said one of the organizers. “It’s going to be a fantastic event, with some amazing p erformers and attractions. We hope everyone can come out and enjoy the festivities.”

The event is free and open to the public, but non-DoD ID cardholde rs must obtain a visitor pass from All American gate 30 days in advance. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to heavy traffic and congestion. Pets, glass bottles, and BBQ grills are not allowed.

RAEFORD, NC – The Hoke Fest 2023 is coming to East Hoke Middle School from June 1-11, 2023. The festival will be open from 5-11 pm on weekdays, 1-11 pm on Saturdays, and 1-11 pm on Sundays.

The festival promises to be a great time for the whole family, with a carnival, vendors, food, and games. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, and with the flyer coupon, attendees can receive $4.00 off one wristband for one day of unlimited rides (not valid on Friday or Saturday after 5 pm).

It’s important to note that there may be height restrictions on some of the rides, and there are no rainchecks or refunds available. The wristband is also void if it’s broken, lost, or removed.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The 11th Annual FYAL Mayors Cup is set to take place on May 6, 2023, at 3 pm at True Vines Ministries, located at 5315 Morganton Rd in Fayetteville. The live boxing event, hosted by the Fitch Youth Activity League, promises to be an exciting evening of competition and sportsmanship.

Boxing fans can expect to see some of the best amateur boxers from around the region compete in the Mayors Cup. The event will feature several bouts, with winners taking home a championship trophy.

F AYETTEVILLE, NC – Cumb erland County Schools, in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, is hosting the Children’s Mental Health & Wellness Fair at Festival Park on May 6, 2023. The event, which will run from 8 am to 11 am, aims to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention among children and young adults.

The fair will feature a variety of activities for families and community members to enjoy, including games, live fitness presentations, car seat safety checks, bike rodeos, helmet giveaways, and a fire truck. In addition, community organizations will be present to provide information and resources related to mental health and wellness.

Attendees can also participate in the Out of Darkness Walk booth, which allows them to show their support for suicide prevention and participate in the walk. The CCS Student Services Attendance District Team will be there to walk with the attendees and raise awareness for this important cause.

Fayetteville, NC — Methodist University, in partn ership with Tulsa Initiative, Inc., hosted the innovative Pop Up and Pitch competition on April 19th. This event, aimed at supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) entrepreneurs, offered participants the opportunity to pitch business ideas for a chance to win a $500 prize.

The competition is pa rt of a broader initiative by both organizations to p romote diversity, equity, and inclusion in entrepreneurship, and to expose aspiring BIPOC entrepreneurs to the importance of business ownership, community solutions, and business scal ability.

Pop Up & Pitch serves as a platform for networking, mentorship, and fostering a positive entrepreneurial mindset. The event highlights the necessity of diverse representation in business ownership, providing a supportive environment to uplift and empower underserved communities.

Fayetteville, NC – Miss Cumberland County’s Teen is presenting a Mental Health Awareness Skate Night at Round-a-Bout skating rink located in Eutaw Shopping Center on May 21, 2023, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event aims to raise awareness about mental health and to provide a fun and supportive environment for those struggling with mental health issues.

The first 25 guests to register on Eventbrite will receive free admission and skate rentals. The event is open to everyone, and admission is free for the first 25 guests. Those who miss out on the free admission can still attend for a small fee.
