Cumberland County Schools return to in-person learning as planned on January 5, 2022.

On Tuesday, The Board and Superintendent c

onsidered changes in students returning to school, including a transition to virtual learning due to grow ing covid-19 concerns. The Board agr eed to move forward with in-person instruction as scheduled, provided enough staff were available and schools would further onsite covid-19 preventive strategies to keep campuses as safe as possible. These strategies include encouraging the use of face coverings, washing hands and social distancing in classrooms, buses, athletic events and more. Students with covid-19/flu symptoms should get tested for Covid-19 before returning to any school. School visitation will be limited.

After school programs will temporary prohibit outside visitors during campus practices. School athletic events will have a max capacity of 50%, use social distancing, and utilize online tickets. Please check with Cumberland County’s Public
