Midtown East and The Forge Food Hall Development Continues Expanding in Fayetteville

Mixed-use project near All American Freeway aims to create a modern dining, retail and entertainment destination

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One of Fayetteville’s largest ongoing commercial developments continues taking shape as construction and planning activity moves forward around the Midtown East and The Forge Food Hall project off Santa Fe Drive.

The development is part of the broader Midtown at Coalition district located near All American Freeway, Santa Fe Drive and Jackson Forge Parkway. Developers envision the area as a modern mixed-use destination featuring restaurants, retail, apartments, entertainment concepts and public gathering spaces.

Unlike a traditional shopping center layout, the project is being designed more as a walkable district centered around food, culture and community activity.

Food Hall Concepts and Restaurant Interest

Developers associated with The Forge Food Hall have discussed interest in bringing several regional and local restaurant concepts into the project, including:

  • Ichi Kaku Ramen
  • The Greek Goat
  • Kusinera Filipino Cuisine

The development is also expected to include an expansion of Sun Asian Supermarket, which is anticipated to become one of the major anchor tenants within the district.

Plans Include Dining, Apartments and Entertainment

According to project information released through leasing and development materials, proposed concepts connected to The Forge and Midtown East include:

PROPOSED FEATURES

  • Two-story food hall concepts
  • Brewery and bar space
  • Outdoor dining and gathering areas
  • Retail storefronts and additional restaurant leasing opportunities
  • Expanded pedestrian-friendly public areas

The larger Midtown development is also expected to include more than 300 apartment units onsite, placing residents within walking distance of dining and retail options.

Its location near All American Freeway and Fort Bragg positions the development within one of the city’s busiest growth corridors, surrounded by thousands of existing residential units and ongoing commercial expansion.

Growing Interest in Lifestyle Developments

Mixed-use developments centered around dining and entertainment have become increasingly common across North Carolina cities, with developers focusing on projects that combine housing, restaurants and social spaces into one centralized district.

In Fayetteville, Midtown at Coalition represents one of the more ambitious attempts to create that type of destination-focused environment near the urban core and military community.
