Gladys Knight to Headline Fayetteville’s 88th Annual Community Concerts Series

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The “Empress of Soul”, Gladys Knight, will be lighting up the stage at the Crown Complex on November 10, 2023. As the curtain-raiser for Fayetteville’s 88th annual Community Concerts series, her performance is highly anticipated by fans and music enthusiasts alike.

Community Concerts, Fayetteville’s eldest arts organization since its establishment in 1935, is renowned for bringing top-tier entertainment to the local community. Beyond its concert series, this volunteer-led, nonprofit organization also manages the Fayetteville Performing Arts Hall of Fame, which was inaugurated in 2008. The Hall of Fame stands as a testament, celebrating local artists for their invaluable contributions to the arts scene. Moreover, the organization champions the local arts community by offering music scholarships, organizing local artist showcases, and ensuring that free concert opportunities remain accessible to all.

Gladys Knight’s long-standing reputation in the music industry is truly remarkable. Heralding from Georgia, her musical voyage took root in a local church and blossomed into a career replete with chart-topping hits, renowned collaborations, and a treasure trove of accolades. Her career, spanning over five decades, showcases her versatility, having achieved No. 1 hits across pop, gospel, R&B, and adult contemporary genres.

Now, tickets for the Community Concerts series are available on Ticketmaster’s website, ensuring fans can secure their spots to witness these musical legends live. Fan can also visit the Crown Box Office at 1960 Coliseum Drive, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

But the series doesn’t stop with the “Empress of Soul”. On December 2, 2023, Josh Turner, accompanied by guest Jared Harder, will be taking the stage, ensuring the musical fervor continues. Turner, boasting over 6.5 million records sold and a distinctive bass voice, stands as a titan in modern-day country music. With hits like “Long Black Train” and accolades to match, Turner’s performance promises to be another highlight of the series.
