Here are the specialty jerseys and their respective theme nights:

  • June 15: Healthcare Heroes Night – Healthcare Jersey

Each jersey auction, except for the one on Sept. 9, will have select jerseys sold in-person during games and the rest sold online. In-game auctions start when gates open and end at the seventh inning’s last out. Online auctions are open for one week, beginning during the respective game.

The season’s first jersey auction was on Healthcare Heroes Night, June 15. Sporting blue medical-themed jerseys, the Woodpeckers raised over $2,000 for the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.

Upcoming on July 29 is Star Wars Night. The Woodpeckers will wear Darth Maul Star Wars Jerseys, with the game starting at 5:05pm. A t-shirt giveaway for the first 1,000 fans is planned. The auction’s proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

On Aug. 5, Marvel Super Hero Night, the team will wear Captain Marvel jerseys. The gates open at 4:05pm, with a Marvel reversible bucket hat giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. Auction proceeds will benefit Governor’s Institute on Substance Abuse.

For Autism Awareness Day, Aug. 6, the team will wear puzzle piece Autism Awareness jerseys. Proceeds from the auction will benefit ServiceSource North Carolina, a leader in vocational training and employment programs for adults with disabilities.

On Sept. 5, Strike Out Suicide Night, the Woodpeckers will wear Military Appreciation jerseys. Auction proceeds will benefit the “Hold Onto Hope” Community Connection Event for Suicide Prevention.

Lastly, on Sept. 9, Super Saturday, the Woodpeckers will wear Eighty Deuces jerseys in honor of the Devils in Baggy Pants. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Jeremy Peña Astros Jersey. This final jersey auction’s proceeds will benefit the United Way of Cumberland County.
