College Roommates Reunite to Create Comics and Launch Entertainment Company, Set to Dazzle Fans at Fayetteville Comic Con

Eric McRay and Mike Wilson’s Giant Star Entertainment debuts new comic book characters with a special autograph signing at the Fayetteville Comic Con.

Fayetteville, NC – A dream born three decades ago is about to come true as college roommates Eric McRay and Mike Wilson join forces once again to bring their love for comics to life. This dynamic duo has reunited after 30 years, and the fruits of their labor will be on full display at the Fayetteville Comic Con at the Crown Complex, taking place from April 21-23, 2023.

Back in their college days, McRay and Wilson were roommates at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where they shared a passion for comics that led them to envision an entertainment venture. After college, the two friends took separate paths, with McRay becoming a renowned visual artist and Wilson dedicating his career to serving the U.S. Army as a graphic artist.

Fast forward to the present day, and the two friends have reconnected to form Giant Star Entertainment, an ambitious company with a mission to create a universe of unique characters featured across various media platforms. Their first creation, “Brother Panda,” is a 1970s-inspired detective action-adventure, combining elements of classic Shaft, Dirty Harry, and Bruce Lee films.

Giant Star Entertainment’s lineup also includes the Golden Voyages of Captain Mojo, Charma and the Magic Circle, and Quack-Kar the Barbarian. “This is a work of passion and a long-time dream of ours. It is 30 years in the making, and we are excited to bring our vision to fruition,” said Mike Wilson, the company’s creative director and cartoonist.
