Fayetteville, NC – Allyson Rosser, a proud US Army veteran and member of the Pee Dee Indian Tribe, has been named a Top 20 finalist for the Ms. Veteran America 2024 competition. The event, which shines a spotlight on the strength and resilience of female veterans, also serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness and support for homeless female veterans through Final Salute Inc. With her background, passion for service, and rich cultural heritage, Allyson is an exceptional candidate poised to make a significant impact through this competition.

Rosser, who completed the American Indian Leadership Development Program at Campbell University, is not only a dedicated advocate for Native American servicewomen but also a passionate supporter of the broader veteran community. A member of the Native American Women Warriors Association (NAWW), she has been actively involved in empowering and supporting both active and retired Native American servicewomen.

As part of her advocacy, Allyson has also participated in efforts to raise awareness of milit ary and veteran suicide. She had the honor of helping escort a Gold Star family in a tribute aimed at highlighting this critical issue that affects so many in the veteran community.

In addition to her advocacy, Allyson brings her rich cultural traditions to the forefront. She is an avid dancer who has performed in the 12th Running Water Singers Powwow, where she participated in the Grand Entry. Her love of dance and her deep connection to her Native American roots are integral to who she is as a leader and a woman of service.

“My journey is rooted in my military service, my Native American heritage, and my desire to give back,” Allyson shared. “Whether it’s advocating for homeless female veterans or raising awareness for PTSD and veteran suicide, I am here to stand up for those who need our support the most.”

Allyson’s advocacy wo rk extends to her support of the Life Aid Research Institute, an organization that focuses on improving brain health. Life Aid Research Institute addresses conditions like PTSD and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) by researching and validating emerging technologies and functional medicine therapies to create innovative treatment protocols. Rosser is committed to helping veterans improve their mental health and quality of life through these advancements.

NC Symphony to Perform Free Concert at Methodist University

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The North Carolina Symphony will return to Methodist Universi ty for a live performance next Friday, offering a free concert at the Huff Concert Hall. The event, scheduled for Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m., will feature some of the most celebrated works in classical music, including Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Bologne’s “Overture to L’Amant Anonyme,” and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 1.”

The concert will be conducted by Michelle Merrill, with violinist Jacqueline Saed Wolborsky featured as the soloist in Vivaldi’s renowned piece. The North Carolina Symphony, a highly regarded ensemble known for its artistic excellence, last performed at Methodist University earlier this year on February 1.
