Hooters Permanently Closes On McPherson Church Road In Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The longtime Hooters restaurant on North McPherson Church Road now appears to be permanently closed following several days of uncertainty surrounding the Fayetteville location’s status.

The restaurant, located at 501 N. McPherson Church Rd., had recently been listed online as “temporarily closed” while chains and locks were seen securing the property alongside notices warning against entering the building.

A more recent message reportedly shared with employees confirmed through management that the Fayetteville location is not expected to reopen. Google Maps has also updated the business listing to reflect the restaurant as permanently closed.

The closure marks another major restaurant change along the Cross Creek Mall and Skibo Road commercial corridor, an area that has continued experiencing redevelopment discussions, ownership changes and shifting retail activity in recent years.

The Fayetteville closure also comes amid broader national challenges surrounding the Hooters brand following bankruptcy restructuring efforts and restaurant shutdowns reported in multiple states during 2025.

Despite several longtime restaurant closures in the area, the corridor continues attracting new businesses, redevelopment interest and additional investment as one of Fayetteville’s busiest retail and dining districts continues evolving.
