 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Set for June 15 in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The City of Fayetteville, in collaboration with Cool Spring Downtown District, will host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Festival Park, located at 335 Ray Avenue.

This year’s celebration promises a vibrant day filled with music, art, and community activities, honoring the historic Juneteenth holiday, which marks the end of slavery in the United States.

Event Highlights:

Headliners:

  • Pierce Freelon: A two-time Grammy-nominated artist known for his unique blend of hip-hop, electronic jazz, and soul. Freelon, the founder of Blackspace, has been featured on the TODAY Show, NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Parents Magazine, and PBS Kids.
  • Skip Marley: The grandson of Bob Marley, Skip Marley blends contemporary pop, rap, and rock. He is renowned for hits like “Calm Down” and “Refugee” and has collaborated with artists like Damien Marley and H.E.R. Marley has also been nominated for an NAACP Image Award.

  • Juneteenth Celebration 5k: A friendly run/walk course with finishers receiving a commemorative medal.
  • Black Art Crawl: Running from June 14 to July 28, showcasing local artists’ work.
  • Hip Hop Yoga: At 10 a.m. at the Kress Building, 229 Hay Street, 2nd Floor.

Volunteer Opportunities:
