New Crown Event Center in Downtown Fayetteville Unveils Cutting-Edge Design

Fayetteville, NC — May 22, 2024 — Fayetteville is set to welcome a state-of-the-art event venue with the unveiling of the new Crown Event Center. This facility will replace the existing Crown Theatre and Crown Arena, offering modern amenities and an array of features designed to enhance the city’s cultural and entertainment offerings.

Key Features

The new Crown Event Center will be designed with inspiration from Fayetteville’s history, incorporating extensive wooden finishes, natural hues, and industrial-style elements. Major highlights of the venue include:

Spacious Lobby: The lobby will feature two indoor ticket windows and one outdoor, a bar, concession stands, and designated queuing areas for efficient entry. Two grand staircases will add to the impressive lobby design.

Main Event Space: This space will include 3,000 retractable seats and fixed seating on the upper floor, creating a versatile flat floor concert venue suitable for various events.

VIP Amenities: On the second floor, there will be a VIP outdoor terrace with views to the north, an indoor bar, a lounge with a retractable glass partition, and two VIP suites.

Multi-Purpose Rooms: There will be a pre-function space with a marquee-inspired ceiling and a multi-purpose room that can accommodate up to 250 people, divisible into two smaller rooms.

Project Costs and Timeline

Initially estimated at $131.7 million, the project’s cost has increased to $145 million due to higher supply and labor costs. Despite this, the project is tracking within the approved budget. The finalized costs will be released to the county the week of June 3. Groundbreaking is expected around September 13, with the venue set to open by April 2027.

Community Impact

Once completed, the Crown Event Center will be one of the largest venues between Durham and Fayetteville. This modern facility is expected to attract high-profile performances, boost local tourism, and provide a versatile space for community events.

The new venue is anticipated to elevate Fayetteville’s cultural and entertainment scene, providing more options for events and supporting the local economy.
