Fayetteville Fury Welcomes Proven Leader Rodrigo Byrne as New Head Coach

Fayetteville, NC – In a significant move for its 2024 season, the Fayetteville Fury Indoor Soccer League is set to embark on an exciting chapter with the appointment of Rodrigo Byrne as their new Head Coach. This announcement heralds a new era of soccer in Fayetteville, promising an infusion of passion and expertise into the league.

Rodrigo Byrne’s appointment is more than just a coaching change; it’s a link to a deep legacy in football. Byrne’s journey in the sport began at Sport Boys in Peru, progressing through the reserves of Atlante in Mexico’s Primera A, and Pumas reserves, sharpening his skills at each step. His foray into futsal saw him ascend to the first professional division with San Martín and leading JAP to a national championship in Peru.

Beyond his playing career, Byrne has been instrumental in shaping the soccer landscape in North Carolina. His roles at Triángulo United and Hornet Futsal, and as an assistant coach for Tobacco RD in the USL2, have established him as a mentor and leader in the sport.

Byrne’s family history is steeped in soccer greatness, with his grandfather and uncle both being professional players, and his cousin achieving national championship glory. This rich family tradition in football has undoubtedly influenced Byrne’s approach and understanding of the game.

The Fayetteville Fury’s 2024 season, set to run from January to May, will feature both men’s and women’s professional indoor soccer teams.
