Ex-Methodist University Football Player Continues Career in UK Championship Game as Oldest Player

Loughborough University’s American football team is gearing up to compete in the British Division 1 National Finals game, set to take place on Tuesday, 21 March 2023, at Nottingham University. With a roster that includes 18 players on the All-Star team, 5 on the GB Squad, and one player signed as a DL with the Houston Texans, the team is well-positioned for success. However, what truly sets them apart is their 47-year-old American super weapon, Tom Gore.

Gore is a retired United States Army Apache Longbow AH-64D Helicopter Pilot who deployed four times to the Middle East during his career. After retiring from the military, Gore attended Methodist University, where he played NCAA D3 football and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a minor in Painting. He was then recruited to attend a university in the UK to continue his football career, and he currently attends Loughborough University in the Masters of Storytelling Program while playing for the Loughborough Students American Football Club.

The Loughborough University American football team has been on a winning streak, going 8-0 for only the 6th time in the university club’s history and achieving an undefeated record of 11-0 after their playoff run, winning against Warwick, Sheffield-Hallam, and Leeds respectively. The team will face off against the Portsmouth Destroyers in the British National Trophy game.

For those unable to attend the National Trophy game in person, it will be broadcast live through the link provided. Fans can tune in at 2pm local time, 10am EST, or 8am PST to catch the action.
