Fayetteville NC Community Gathers for MAN 22 Suicide Awareness Run on July 22, 2023

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The community is set to gather at Festival Park, 335 Ray Avenue, on July 22, 2023, for the 8th Annual “MAN 22” Suicide Awareness Run. The free event, starting at 9 AM, is open to all, and aims to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

In recent years, the rise in suicide rates has alarmed communities nationwide. Responding to the crisis, the organizers of “MAN 22” invite the public to stand together, running in memory of those lost and in support of those who struggle. There’s no sign-up required – just the desire to make a difference.

The event features prominent guest speakers, including Council Member Kathy Jensen, Fayetteville Police Chief Kemberle Braden, and retired MSG Chris Corbin. They will share their insights and stories, providing inspiration and raising consciousness about mental health issues.

In addition to the main event, a series of activities are scheduled to bolster community engagement. On July 21st, Gold Star families will enjoy a private dinner and meet & greet at The Kraken-Skulls. Later that evening, the public is invited to a MAN22SAR Meet & Greet at the same location.

On the morning of July 22nd, there will be a Gold Star Families Escort starting from Hendrick Jeep and concluding at Festival Park. Calling all bikes, Jeeps, cars, and trucks to join in this symbol of unity and support.

At 10 AM, the 8th Annual MAN22SAR commences at Festival Park. It’s an opportunity for everyone to come together, run for a cause, and remember that every life matters.

The community’s presence can make a significant impact. Together, we can take steps towards understanding, prevention, and healing. Let’s run together, because every step counts.
