Fayetteville, NC – Embrace a healthier lifestyle and support local youth sports at the “Going Green 5K Community Fun Run & Outreach,” happening on March 9, 2024, at Festival Park in Fayetteville, NC. The day kicks off with registration at 7:30 AM, followed by the run starting at 9 AM, and continues with a range of activities until 3 PM.

This community event is not just a run; it’s an opportunity to try out demo shoes from leading brands like New Balance, On Cloud, and HOKA. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for your next pair of shoes or a casual jogger, this is your chance to test the best in the market.

But the Going Green 5K offers much more than a typical fun run. The event includes coaches clinics across a variety of sports—basketball, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, baseball/softball, football, and tennis—from 12:30 PM to 2:45 PM. These sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for attendees to learn new techniques and strategies from experienced coaches.

Food trucks will serve up tasty treats from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, ensuring participants and spectators can refuel and enjoy the community atmosphere. Additionally, fun games will be available for all ages, making it a perfect day out for families.

Proceeds from the Going Green 5K will support the Sport Matter Grant, aimed at enhancing youth athletics in Cumberland County. This event not only promotes physical health and wellness but also underscores the importance of community and environmental consciousness.

Brought to you by Dick’s House of Sport, the Going Green 5K invites Fayetteville and surrounding communities to run for a cause, celebrate the spirit of going green, and contribute to a healthier, more harmonious community.
