A new development sign along Camden Road is confirming what many residents in the Jack Britt and Hope Mills area have been anticipating. Target is officially listed as the anchor tenant for the future Camden Commons project, located between Camden Road and Rockfish Road. Land clearing is already underway as the next phase of commercial growth begins to take shape.
The signage provides the first visible confirmation for shoppers who had heard speculation but were waiting for proof. With Target identified as the anchor, Camden Commons is positioned to become a significant retail addition to this expanding corridor.
Target typically serves as a major draw in developing retail centers, attracting complementary stores and restaurants that benefit from steady customer traffic. While additional tenants have not yet been publicly announced, projects of this scale often evolve into primary shopping destinations within growing communities.
The Camden Road corridor has transformed considerably over the past decade. With Harris Teeter operating nearby and Traemoor Village Plaza continuing to expand its mix of restaurants, retail and service providers, the area has steadily developed its own commercial identity. What was once considered a quieter stretch of road now reflects sustained residential growth and increasing consumer demand.
Infrastructure improvements have also strengthened the corridor’s appeal. The completion of the I-295 outer loop connection from Raeford Road to I-95 has significantly improved access, making the Camden and Rockfish area more convenient for drivers across Cumberland County, including those traveling from the north side.
Leasing information listed on the development sign identifies Grant-Murray Real Estate, with contact provided as Chuck Maxwell at 910-624-1966.
With site work in progress and Target confirmed as the anchor, Camden Commons represents one of the most anticipated retail developments in the Jack Britt and Hope Mills area in recent years.
