FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — President Donald Trump visited Fort Bragg on Friday, addressing soldiers from the XVIII Airborne Corps gathered inside a facility near Pope Army Airfield during a scheduled stop focused on military readiness and support for service members.

The event drew active-duty troops, base leadership and invited guests at one of the Army’s most strategically significant installations. Fort Bragg is home to the XVIII Airborne Corps and multiple specialized units responsible for rapid deployment and global response operations.
In his remarks, Trump discussed ongoing efforts to modernize the U.S. military through investment in new weapons systems and advanced technologies. He said significant funding would be directed toward maintaining operational readiness, expanding capabilities and ensuring that soldiers have access to updated equipment designed to address evolving global challenges.

The president also referenced recent overseas missions involving U.S. forces and commended soldiers who participated in those operations. He praised the training, discipline and professionalism of units based at Fort Bragg.
The speech included broader commentary on national defense priorities alongside recognition of military service. Trump highlighted the importance of continued support for service members and emphasized the role of Fort Bragg in national security strategy.

In addition to his public address, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met privately with military families during the visit. Discussions included quality-of-life concerns, including housing conditions and infrastructure improvements affecting service members stationed at the installation.
Trump stated that attention to military housing and surrounding base infrastructure remains a priority and noted that Fort Bragg plays a central role in the region’s economy and identity. He also made positive remarks about the Fayetteville area, describing it as a strong community.
Security measures were heightened in and around the installation during the visit, with coordination between base officials and federal authorities.
Fort Bragg remains one of the largest and most visible military installations in the United States, frequently serving as a venue for national leaders to engage directly with troops and their families.
