Cook Out Restaurant on Skibo Road Showing Progress

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Many residents have heard that Cook Out is coming to Skibo Road, but not everyone has seen how far along construction has progressed.

The fast-food restaurant is moving into the former Boston Market building near Staples and directly across from Marketfair Plaza. This stretch of Skibo Road has experienced steady commercial growth over the past decade, with the Cross Creek Mall area continuing to expand its lineup of dining options.

A recent visit to the site on February 6 revealed noticeable progress. Construction appears well underway, with much of the exterior structure in place and visible signs that the project is moving toward completion.

One difference that stands out is the size of the building. Compared to some of the earlier Cook Out locations that opened in Fayetteville years ago, this site appears larger and more modern in layout, suggesting an updated design.

An official grand opening date has not yet been announced, but anticipation is already building. For many, the thought of that first tray run — from cheese bites to Cajun fries and a milkshake substitute — is enough to spark conversation.

As Skibo Road continues evolving into one of Fayetteville’s busiest retail and restaurant corridors, the addition of Cook Out adds another recognizable name to the mix.

How do you feel about Cook Out landing on Skibo Road? Or do you still miss Boston Market?
