Hope Mills, NC — Town officials have released updates regarding this weekend’s holiday festivities, including the cancellation of one major event and confirmation that another will continue as scheduled.
Christmas at the Lake Canceled
The Christmas at the Lake event planned for Friday, December 5, has been canceled due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. While the main event will not take place, Manna Church will still be present at the lake on Saturday, December 6, offering cookies and hot cocoa to parade attendees to help keep the holiday spirit alive.
Christmas Parade of Lights Moving Forward
The Hope Mills Christmas Parade of Lights, set for Saturday, December 6, remains a rain-or-shine event and will proceed as planned. Officials note that the only circumstance that could prompt a cancellation would be winter weather causing unsafe road conditions.
An official update regarding safety-related concerns will be released around midday on December 6 if necessary.
Hope Mills Parks and Recreation expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding and looks forward to a festive and enjoyable weekend of holiday celebrations.
