New FACE Cruiser Rolls Out as CCS Superintendent Bracy Kicks Off Community Tour

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Cumberland County Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy has officially launched “Bracy on Board: A Listening and Learning Journey”, a new countywide initiative designed to strengthen connections with families, staff, and students. The tour began with two well-attended community events at South View High School and Pine Forest High School, where parents and students filled the gyms to participate in surveys, hands-on activities, and open discussions that will help shape the district’s upcoming strategic plan.

The launch also marked the debut of the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Cruiser, a full-size school bus transformed into a mobile resource center. The Cruiser is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, technology stations, and flexible workshop space. Its mission is to bring district services directly to families across Cumberland County, providing access to programs such as homework assistance, FAFSA guidance, Pre-K registration, family academy workshops, and community resource referrals.

At the initial events, families had the opportunity to meet Cumberland County Schools staff at interactive stations covering topics such as nutrition, enrollment, and family programs. Children enjoyed games, food, and prize giveaways supported by community partn ers, while parents were encouraged to complete surveys and suggest future stops for the FACE Cruiser throughout the county.

Dr. Bracy emphasized the importance of collaboration during his remarks to attendees, stating, “We are anchored in excellence, but to succeed, we need you — our families, staff, and community partners. Together, we will chart the future of Cumberland County Schools.”

The Bracy on Board tour will continue with additional stops across the district, giving families more opportunities to share their input and engage with school leadership. Meanwhile, the FACE Cruiser will rotate between schools and neighborhoods, ensuring families throughout Cumberland County have convenient access to the resources, information, and support they need to thrive.
