Fayetteville, NC — After being shuttered for more than three years due to a devastating arson fire in March 2022, Gyro Kings is officially reopening its doors this Saturday, June 7, and inviting the community to celebrate their powerful comeback.
Located at 700 North Reilly Road, the beloved family-owned restaurant was first established in 2016 and quickly became a staple in the Fayetteville food scene. Known for its flavorful Korean BBQ, gyro platters, and unique fusion dishes, Gyro Kings earned a loyal following for its generous portions and home-style cooking.
Run by Chunson Savage and her daughters, Sarena and Melina, the business was built from the ground up through their own hard work, vision, and passion for food. For the Savage family, the restaurant wasn’t just a business—it was a dream that represented resilience, love, and community.
The fire, which occurred in the early hours of March 2022, caused extensive damage and left the building uninhabitable. Instead of walking away, the family began the long process of rebuilding on their own—without corporate backing or outside investors.

Now, after years of dedication, Gyro Kings is back and better than ever. The menu features signature favorites like bulgogi, kalbi ribs, yakimandu, hearty club sandwiches, and of course, their famous gyros. With every dish made fresh and served with heart, the reopening is a celebration not just of food, but of perseverance and community spirit.
The grand reopening celebration will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at their original location. The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and closed on Sundays. Guests can expect music, great food, and a chance to reconnect with one of Fayetteville’s most cherished local eateries.
