Free Summer Meals Available for Cumberland County Children

Fayetteville, NC — This summer, children across Cumberland County can enjoy free meals thanks to Cumberland County Schools. The Summer Meals Program runs from June 2 through July 31, 2025, and offers free lunches Monday through Thursday to all children 18 years old and younger—regardless of income or registration status.

Meals must be consumed on-site, and children must be present to participate. N o identification or prior sign-up is required, making this a simple and accessible resource for families looking to keep their children nourished during the summer break.

Meals will be distributed at various locations, including school cafeterias, recreation centers, parks, and libraries. Sites include Cliffdale, Kiwanis, Massey Hill, Smith, Spring Lake, and Westover Recreation Centers, as well as College Lakes, Collier, Lake Rim, Sunnyside, and Walker-Spivey Elemen tary School cafeterias. Outdoor locations such as Hope Mills Municipal Park, Mendoza Park, and Roy Turner Park will also serve meals. Ad ditionally, Spring Lake Library is participating in the effort.

The initiative is designed to support families and promote health and wellness while schools are out of session. Parents are encouraged to take advant age of this opportunity to ensure their children have access to balanced, nutritious meals throughout the summer months.
