Fayetteville, NC — The Cumberland County Board of Education has officially named Dr. Eric C. Bracy as the next Superintendent of Cumberland County Schools, following the upcoming retirement of current Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly Jr.

Dr. Bracy, a veteran educator with over 25 years of experience in North Carolina public schools, was appointed during a special board meeting held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He is expected to assume the role on July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter, pending his release from Johnston County Schools, where he currently serves as superintendent.
