NC Governor Cooper Signs Executive Order to Set New Policies for Retailers, Nursing Home, Unemployment Benefits


NC Governor Cooper orders new changes for essential retailers starting April 13, 2020 at 5pm. Executive Order No. 131 Sets Policies for Retail Stores, Enforces Mandatory Rules at Nursing Homes and Expedites Issuing Unemployment Benefits .

SUMMARY:
?? A retail store must limit the number of customer to no more than 20% of their fire capacity.
?? A retail store must mark 6ft of distance for gathering spots such as checkout lines
?? Encourages stores to have hand sanitizer accessible, create designated hours for seniors or at-risk shoppers, make aisles one way, and use clear plastic protective shields at checkout
