Homegrown Heroes Back to School Bash Celebrates Military and Veteran Families

EASTOVER, NC — Military and veteran families are invited to kick off the new school year at the Homegrown Heroes: Back to School Bash, a community celebration designed to honor and support the youngest heroes in military households.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Salem Methodist Church, located at 2165 Middle Road in Eastover. Families can look forward to a day filled with fun, food, and meaningful connections in a welcoming atmosphere.

Guests will enjoy free food and treats, outdoor games, and family-friendly activities, along with swag bags packed with school supplies and giveaways. The event will also feature local resource booths offering helpful information and services tailored to military and veteran families.

Organizers say the goal is to bring families together while connecting them with resources that strengthen community ties. The day promises plenty of laughter, smiles, and opportunities for children to make lasting memories before the school year begins.

The celebration is hosted by Operation Honor: Rural Salute and Grand Canyon University, both dedicated to supporting the military community through engagement, education, and empowerment.
