Honoring the Fallen, Uplifting the Families

Fort Bragg, NC — On May 22, 2025, the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) hosted its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Memorial Wall Plaza, located at USASOC Headquarters on Fort Bragg. The solemn event paid trib

ute to the courageous soldiers of Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) who gave their lives in service to the nation.

Fifty-five Gold Star family members traveled from across the country to attend the ceremony. These families, forever connected by sacrifice, stood in remembrance of their loved ones whose names are etched on the Memorial Wall. U.S. Army 1st Lt. Sarah Morgan served as the narrator, guiding attendees through a moving tribute that acknowledged fallen ARSOF warriors from past and present generations.

eflection, Mr. Doug Elwell, USASOC’s Regimental Piper, played the bagpipes—his melody ringing through the plaza as a somber and unifying gesture of respect.

This annual gathering is more than a ceremony. It is a promise—to remember, to honor, and to never forget. To the Gold Star families in attendance and across the nation, USASOC reaffirms that your loved ones’ sacrifices will forever be remembered with gratitude and reverence.
