Dollar General on Ramsey Street Set to Close Permanently July 10

Fayetteville, NC — The Dollar General located at 3445 Ramsey Street is preparing to shut its doors for good on July 10, 2025. The closure will leave the shopping plaza completely vacant, capping off a steady decline in tenancy over recent years.

Currently, store merchandise is marked down by 15% as part of a clearance event. Store officials confirm that the discount will increase to 25% next week, as part of a final push to liquidate inventory before closing.

This particular Dollar General was the last remaining storefront in a plaza that once housed a range of small businesses including Sav A Lot Grocery, Ramsey Beauty Supply, a local salon, and a shipping service. With this closure, the plaza now stands empty — raising questions about the future of the commercial property at a key intersection.

While this location is set to close, shoppers still have nearby options. Dollar General continues

to operate at 5522 Ramsey Street near Pine Forest Middle School, as well as at 2865 Ramsey Street, near the Cumberland County Department of Social Se rvices and the Public He alth Department.

The closure reflects shifting retail patterns and adds to a list of national chains reassessing their footprint in the Fayetteville area. Local leaders and residents are hopeful that future redevelopment can breathe new life into the plaza once again.
