HOPE MILLS, NC — Fresh off the excitement of Fayetteville’s first Wawa opening on Raeford Road earlier today, the convenience store favorite is set to make an even bigger splash later this month. On Thursday, August 28, Wawa will celebrate the grand opening of its first-ever Travel Center in North Carolina, located at 630 Chicken Foot Road in Hope Mills. Doors open at 8:00 AM, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 9:00 AM.

The Hope Mills Travel Center will be the largest Wawa in the region, boasting over 8,000 square feet of space and designed to accommodate both local customers and travelers. The site will feature six high-speed diesel fuel lanes, 20 fuel spots for passenger vehicles, and expanded parking for tractor-trailers. Guests can expect the full Wawa menu — including hoagies, Sizzlis, soups, smoothies, and handcrafted beverages — along with indoor and outdoor seating areas, a pet relief area, modern restrooms, and a CAT weigh station for professional drivers.

The grand opening will offer plenty of perks to celebrate the occasion. The first 250 customers will receive free Wawa t-shirts, and all guests can enjoy free any-size hot coffee from August 28 through August 31. Festivities will include a “Honk” celebration with Wally Goose and big-rig drivers, as well as the Hoagies for Heroes competition between local first responders, with $1,000 in charitable donations going to community causes.
This new Travel Center is more than just a pit stop — it’s a part of Wawa’s ambitious North Carolina expansion plan, which is expected to create thousands of jobs statewide ove r the next decade. For Hope Mills, it means a modern, full-service travel hub offering convenience, comfort, and Wawa’s signature friendly service for ye ars to come.
