FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Families are invited to start the school year off right at the Back to School Jam & Health Fair, a free community event hosted by Evans Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church and the NCNW Fayetteville Area Section. The event will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 301 N Cool Spring Street in downtown Fayetteville.

This annual celebration brings together fun, resources, and community support to help local students and families prepare for a healthy, successful school year. Young attendees ages 0–12 can receive free Colgate dental screenings, and families will have access to valuable health resources and information from local organizations.
In addition to wellness services, the event will feature free school supplies, special appearances by the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, and a chance to meet “Bunker,” the beloved mascot of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers. Guests can also enjoy delicious food, fun games, music, sweet treats, and activities that promise to keep the day lively and engaging.
Organizers say the Back to School Jam & Health Fair is about more than giveaways — it’s about building connections between families and the community groups working to support them year-round. With school supplies, health check-ups, and family entertainment all in one place, the event offers a one-stop opportunity to prepare children for the academic year ahead.
